The solid steel heads are protected by heavy-duty, shock-absorbing Urethane rubber which is completely molded over the head to the start of the dumbbell handle. The heads are welded to a gunmetal finish handle for a solid, one-piece finish which is comfortable in hand and won't damage your floor when drops occur.
